Where Did That Storm Come From?

by SeasideMan @ 18/06/08 - 08:36:16

The wind was raging off the sea like a submarine crew headed for shore leave, when I took the above picture last night. Still like it now too. It’s the longest day in three days as well. The storms here appear from nowhere and are sometimes gone just as quickly. The light changes by the second: it can be black one moment and bright the next. The picture shows it between moments, with the storm clouds just breaking to let the sun through.

Cheers, Tom.

I had to walk onto the beach for that one. I tried it from the balcony, but the reflections didn't work properly.

Cheers, Tom.

excellent picture - very atmospheric.
i just got back from a walk over the cliffs and almost got blown off my feet.
i must admit i prefer it like this, though.

I like it wild as well. I really liked it in the winter when The Mighty Gales were blowing and layers and layers of clothing were needed for a short walk.

Yes, reflections can either ruin one's intentions or
occasionally enhance the photo.

Santos in Brazil? Ah, that's where you live, I've just realised. I'd love to visit Brazil some time. I used to work with a man who used to be a motorcycle policeman in Sao Paolo. He made me really want to visit!

Cheers, Tom.

I'm near Aberystwyth on the coast of West Wales. I don't follow football, but even I have heard of Pele and Robinho!

I like your dogs names. My other dog is Shep.

Cheers, Tom.

I'm looking it up in the internet. I have never heard about your town. It looks like Santos by this pic

The only difference is that Santos has skycrapers on the main avenue across the beach. I would love to read about the history of Aberystwyth.

best wishes

bye Dan and Shep :)

I actually live in a small village called Borth, just outside Aberystwyth. This is Borth:
