Big waves are no deterrent to an enthusiastic dog when there is a ball to be retrieved! But unlike some dogs that just launch themselves into the biggest waves and plough their way through, Dan has become smart. He’s learnt that if the ball is sat on top of a wave, it will come to him and he doesn’t have to dive into it! Clever doggie!

Pro He is surprisingly clever. I think it's the Collie in him. He's half collie, half Jack-Russell terrier.

Pro Thanks. My very first dog was called Penny. She was a Jack Russell terrier and had a brown spot on her back that was the same size as a penny.

Aw! 
They can be lovely little dogs in the right hands, though I'm not all that keen on small dogs. Give me a Newfie or a Leonberger, and I'd be happy for the rest of my life.

Pro I prefer the medium sized ones these days, like Dan and Shep, my collie. A really big dog is a lot to handle and keep and you need a lot of space too!
