I’m Happy to be Wrong

by SeasideMan @ 27/06/08 - 09:23:28

just_sunset

I said to someone yesterday that there was no chance of a sunset last night. I was wrong as the picture proves. The heavy rain stopped, the clouds parted and the sun appeared for about 5 minutes before the clouds closed over it again and the rain restarted. The above was the only OK picture I managed to take in the time. Click on it to bigify it.

The weather has been shocking here for the last few days. It’s either been monstrous wind or terrific rain. The forecast isn’t good for the next few days either, and I think the schools finish soon if they haven’t already. That should dampen a few holidaymakers' ardour!

A bit of rain won’t dampen the Glastonbury festival-goers spirits. They tend to be a sturdy bunch determined to have a good time whatever the conditions. My Helen is there now (she’s been there since the gates opened on Wednesday morning in fact) but I didn’t fancy going this year.

Cheers, Tom.

Thanks, it was lucky I spotted it. If I hadn't been making a cup of tea I wouldn't have seen it.

I prefer words like bigify, embiggen and massivify. What a lovely language that can be almost endlessly modified in this way!

It's capturing a moment isn't it that's a real gift... Just love the sky...the only sky I don't like is a uniform grey one because so little of interest is happening....great big hugs...XX

Great pic - I must admit I have a real soft spot for the place. How long have you been there?

Since December. It's far and away the best place I've ever lived. Every morning when I open the curtains and see the sea, it makes me feel happy.

We're hoping to move to the coast at some stage. Probably when the boys have flown the nest. The draw of the sea is strong

" I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky"

I think something very primitive draws most of us to the sea.

You're not wrong. It's pull is very strong. Can't wait to be back by it again this weekend

Oh Tom,
I so would love that... to open the curtains and see the sea. Watch the sunset over the coast horizon … wonderful… I long to be back by the coast ASAP…. Stopped the move as boys did not want to come with me!! Sacrifices of a mother!!

Where do you originate from? Where else have you lived?

I'm originally from a few miles away from the east coast, in Lincolnshire. That's why it was a sheer joy for me to actually live on the coast, albeit the West Coast. I've lived in lots of other places, but this is the best one.

Hubby and I love the coast….

I'm waiting for a sign to show me the right direction to go in.. At times, I feel lonely, trapped, frustrated in a job I don’t want to be at and desperate to escape…. But when????? Where???
Being near the sea, I feel free :-)

Most people seem to love the coast. It's something to do with the open views, I think. You can see clear to the horizon with nothing in the way and the sky looks so huge. There is more light too, as the sunlight reflects upwards from the waves. This actually does increase happiness.

I hope you do find the right direction for yourself.

Dark and mysterious and always changing: the sea and the subconscious match well.

Glad you like the picture.
