I Can’t Believe it’s July Already

by SeasideMan @ 01/07/08 - 08:34:03

That means it’s now 7 months that Helen and I have been living here. During that time, I’ve walked on the beach every day, often two or three times, apart from a couple of weekends away. I’ve taken almost 40,000 photographs.

It’s incredible how the time flies past sometimes, isn’t it?

The picture above was taken at about 9:30 last night. I know it looks like I’ve enhanced the colours, but I really haven’t - that’s what it actually looked like. Click on it to largenate it.

Cheers, Tom.

It's different every day. I just have to remember to point my camera at it!

forty thousand?! blimey! just getting into photos myself, but not able to justify buying a proper camera yet :(

Used to not be able to see the point of photos, but that was my dad's fault as he took far far too many pics of my sis n I at early ages, making me now very camera shy

I didn't used to see the point of photography either, but there is a great joy in capturing a lovely image that I have recently been learning.

You can get perfectly good digital cameras for well under £100 now, probably for as little as £50 or £60.

This one at £60 looks really good:

That's actually slightly better than mine.

think I might need to have a look at the gadget shows site lol, then I'll have a better idea of what I'm looking for!

...how do you know it's better than yours?

It is 8 Megapixels rather than 7, has a 5X optical zoom rather than 3, and goes to ISO 1600 rather than 1200. It's half price as well...

lol, well that might have me hooked then... it's not just the camera tho, it's how you use it ;)

Wow, good camera!
Evening Tom! Another great photos of the sunset.... dodgy weather forecast for the next few days :-(

I have been on the lookout for a mobile phone with a good! Have (had) a Sony Ericson 800i but when I was taking bird photos, the zoom was not good enough (they all looked like blobs in the trees!! The higher megapixel, optical zoom are expensive to buy in a phone... but I want every thing together... minimalism suites me best!

I know some phones do now have good cameras, but as you say they are expensive. The price is bound to come down though. You can buy a workable phone for £20 and an OK camera for £50, so surely it can't be long before someone combines both for £100?

My camera is a Panasonic Lumix. It isn't a particularly high quality one, but it has served me well so far. I'd like to jump up to the semi-professional ones, but they increase hugely in size and cost and I can't justify the expense at the moment.

Wow - 40,000 photos! That must be some kind of record in 7 months. And such good quality ones too if this sunset is anything to go by!!

Thanks very much :-)

I've taken a load more pictures of the sunset tonight, and will probably post one of them tomorrow.
