I hope I’m not the only one who sees the two light areas in the sky as eyes in the above picture (click on it to enlarge it).
This made me think of something I saw on the telly a while ago. A works canteen was having problems with cutlery being stolen by employees, so they did something very simple: they painted some staring eyes on the wall behind the cutlery box. Rather surprisingly, the thefts reduced to a trickle. The staring eyes made people feel as if they were being watched, so they became honest.
This interesting tale tells me 2 things:
1. Many people will break the law if they think they can get away with it
2. We can expect to see lots of eyes painted in shops before long
I am wondering if this same idea would help to prevent people from dropping litter.
