golden_sands

I think just about every seaside resort in the country has at least one place called “Golden Sands”. It might be a caravan site, guest house, restaurant, amusement arcade or something else but more likely than not there will be one. Here in Borth, it’s a caravan site.

Most of the time though, the sands aren’t golden. From a distance they might look a uniform brownish shade that sometimes approaches gold, but close-up this is what it looks like:

Nothing gold in there! The real golden colour in the top picture is unusual in my experience. It was a most peculiar sunset tonight. It started off a very vivid yellow colour before turning golden and I had to discard most of the pictures I took during the yellow phase because they looked unreal, as if  I’d fiddled with the colours in Photoshop or similar. I never do that - I don’t even have any software to do it with anyway.
