Or maybe very very very very very very very very dark blue, as they once said on Father Ted. And if Father Ted isn’t the funniest comedy series ever, it must be pretty darned close. Below is me playing My Lovely Horse from the programme. I only did it once without much practice so it could be improved.

I was intending to post some pictures taken in the Indian Restaurant last night, but since I abjectly failed to set the camera up correctly, they all turned out rubbish.

  Nice to meet a fellow fan. I did record a version in the Ted style:

  etc.
  
  But it wasn't a patch on the original.
  
  That's such a fine episode, but then they all are. I think I've seen all of them at least 5 times.

  Helen tells me I should smile more while recording too. My only excuse is that I'm too busy concentrating: I find it incredibly difficult to play guitar and sing at the same time.

I enjoyed that..... I know a certain young man who wishes to play the electric guitar and I'm beginning to wonder what I started - any clues where to get an inexpensive EG with amp for a 9 year old? And lessons appear to be expensive....

  It's possible to buy an electric guitar and amp combination for not much more than £100. Almost any guitar shop (of which there is one in most reasonable sized towns) will have such a package. But, lessons really are a tremendous help and, as you say, they are expensive. But even without formal lessons, there are literally thousands of guitar teaching videos on youtube, for every level from basic to expert. Some of them are of very high quality too.
  
  If you consider helping the "young man", see what your nearest music shop has to offer, and I am happy to advise you on whether it seems reasonable or not.
  
  I hope this has been some help. If not, please ask me anything. This is a subject about which I am both knowledgeable and very interested. If a potential guitarist can be helped to get the bug, that would make me happy.

      I'm a HUGE BlackAdder fan too, but I never got into Gimme Gimme Gimme. In recent years, I've loved Spaced, Peep Show, Green Wing and The Book Group.
