This one taken from our balcony:
This one taken from the top of the sea wall:
I have a CD I bought in 1996 called “Love, Pussycats and Carwrecks” by Funky Porcini. It contains a track called “I’m Such A Small Thing” which contains a sample of a man saying the title of this blog entry: “I’m Such A Small Thing And The Sky Is So Big”.
I have just spent the last hour trying in vain to discover the source of this sample. I suspect it’s from an American science fiction television series from the 1950s, 60s or 70s, but that really is just a guess. If anyone recognises this phrase and knows it’s origin, I would love to hear about it. There are other (sometimes quiet) samples in the piece that might be related and which may give helpful hints. If you feel like a listen, a link to the song is below, and I warn potential listeners that the sample starts off slowed down and is presented at correct speed later in the piece.
Can you help identify the sample?
Cheers, Tom.
