I went through the official enrolment process this afternoon, so that’s it: I’m in! If anyone asks what I do now, the correct answer is “Student”.
I suppose I’d better buy a hoodie, start smoking, start listening to Goth or Emo music and get drunk and disruptive in the town centre late at night…plus any other stereotypes we can think of.

Students in Scotland are exempt from Council tax don't know about Wales though, you can get cheaper tickets for all kinds of things too

In the states, you'd be joining the ranks of the "non-trads" (aka: "non-traditional student")--that's the politcally correct term for us adult learners....well, sounds better than "old fart in the classroom."

When I was at college, I remember thinking how ancient the two mature students in my geology class were. I found out later they were about 25 and 26. Sheesh!
