A very peculiar sunset last night, as you can see in the upper picture above (click it to enlarge it). The line down the left was even sharper in reality than it looks in the picture, and the colours were stunning: a genuine red sky at night. But this morning, the foretold Shepherd’s delight appears to be absent, although we don’t have a warning either (as can be seen from the lower picture).
It’s curious to me how the sun going down is still a metaphor for bad things happening and the sun coming up for good. In the olden days when the sun going down meant darkness it made more sense, but most towns and cities are never dark these days.
I have a 3-hour film studies lecture this afternoon. I wonder what they’ll be talking about?

That's a really strange effect on the top one...thought at first you had something blocking the sky...one straight line down is very odd...GBHs...XXX
