Our dogs have been quite a feature of this little blog of mine since I started it back in February. Dan has had more than his fair share of appearances, and he makes another one today. It’s not favouritism, it’s because he does things that make better photographs. The above is an example. Throw a stick for Shep and he’d just stand there looking at you, probably wondering if you had any food. Throw it for Dan and he tears off like billy-o after it, wherever it might be…in this case in the sea.
Sand is deadly for cameras and mine has had lots of problems because of it. Currently, the lens cover has stopped working, and it’s almost certainly because of sand. Throwing a stick on a beach for a dog inevitably gets sand on your hands. When you have to throw the stick and then very quickly get your camera pointed at the dog as he runs back, the sand inevitably goes on the camera. Still, it’s worth it: I’m quite pleased with the above picture.
