The above picture was taken from the promenade using a tripod, quite a while after sunset when it was almost dark. I used a long exposure time and it was zoomed as far as I could. I quite like the resulting pastelly shades, although the quality is quite low. This has exposed the limits of my fairly basic camera. There’s far too much grain and noise.
The above picture was taken in the same way as the top one at the same time and from the same place, but with a much shorter exposure time. Again, the quality is rather low and whilst I quite like the result, it’s too dark.
My partner Helen has a far better camera than me. I must borrow it and try again while the weather remains good to see what difference it makes.
