Mistakes are fine as long as we learn from them, and if possible don’t repeat them. This Is, I think, generally true of life but is certainly true of photography. The above picture is too light, has insufficient tonal variation, and the composition is a bit stereotypical. I shall now go out and try and take a better one!

Pro Yes, I'm far more critical now than I was, and I see that as a good thing. Using film has made me concentrate far more on composition too, as there is a cost to the pictures. This is affecting my digital pictures too.

Pro Thanks for letting me know. After staring at a picture for a while and trying to analyse it, I end up losing all idea of what is good and what isn't!
