And I’m not referring to that religious song that Debbie Boone sang in 1977. But if I were, I’d be thinking of this version of it performed by Anatoly Aleshin from the marvellous black comedy from 1998 “Happiness”, directed by Todd Solondz.

If you haven’t seen the film you won’t understand why this scene is funny and I really shouldn’t try and explain in case you do. All I’ll say is that the female character is rather ironically named Joy. Please give it a try if it‘s on, but be warned that when I say it‘s a black comedy, I‘m not joking. I wrote a full length review of it a while back that I can post if anyone is interested.
