The Ninth Wave

Ivan Aivazovsky's painting "The Ninth Wave" has been called "The most beautiful painting in Russia":

It's a theme that interested Kate Bush too. Here is a lovely calming tune for a Sunday morning from the start of her Ninth Wave "And Dream Of Sheep" (ignore the video, it's just a load of pictures of her):

love the photos of the waves and the painting has
the most wonderfull feel of the waves!!

Love the power of the sea! Some great photo's there capturing the strength of the waves.

Have never seen the "Ninth Wave" painting - it is beautiful. Love the colours and light.

  Thanks, I've taken thousands of pictures of waves and they never quite work. These two are more or less what I was after on this occasion.

Such fabulous waves! So overpowering! Reminds me of those Surfing movies and "The Perfect Storm." When are you going to see Neil? It is only 3:17 p.m., over here in the afternoon - but I must stop now for it is almost bedtime for you. Sorry for I keep forgetting the time difference.
