Pleased With This One

I mentioned yesterday that my new waterproof camera seemed good in bright, even sunshine with vivid colours. I think the above demonstrates this rather well. I've been reading the manual and it has 2 interesting features I've never had before: Macro zoom, and high-speed burst.

Macro zoom is like a traditional macro, allowing focus on small things, but in this case zoomed in. This means that very small details can be magnified in reasonable quality. Below, we have a few barnacles and a small clump of seaweed. In both cases, the region photographed was less than 1cm across:

I'll play with the fast burst another time. Today is a college day, so I need to get shifting!

barnacles are very expensive and I watched a documentary it is very dangerous to diving and get them. I have never ever seen barnacles in nature. Very interesting. Thank you. Nice picture with Dan, he seems to wait for your words: Dan, come to me! Have a nice day on College!

  I didn't think barnacles were expensive - they are all over the break-waters on the beach and you don't have to dive for them.

    Oh that is interesting! It was a documentary set in Spain, and they dive for them, maybe it is another kind.

Liked the portrait of Dan a couple of days back too...the one with the flopped ear!

Those barnacles look like Audrey IIs from The Little Shop of Horrors! The seaweed looks like a suppurating sore! Defence?

My camera's zoom function is cr*p so I am dead jealous of yours.

What brilliant pictures!

There are so many lovely micro images in nature and with a good eye for a piccy you will no doubt be finding some great shots to share with us.

  The cameras are getting better month by month. I bought an older version of this camera (Panasonic Lumix) about 2 years ago, and the new one is FAAAAR better. I like macro photography, so I'll see what I can do...
