They do always seem nice and placid, which I like.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 11:07:07
poor buggers... they really do look miserable.
as far as rudeness goes??? That's niche porn if ever I saw it.-
- 21/10/09 @ 11:30:37
Something about the shape of their faces.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 11:36:03
I am a little concerned that 2 posts came to my attention at the same time.. your wet donkey and BDA's orgasmic experience... for some strange reason I chose to click on wet donkey first.
I may need some help!

Hehe - I wish I'd planned it that way!

The way they were made...their look of unhappiness may be quite different from ours...

Maybe they are just fooling us...

I've seen a happy donkey once or twice

-
- 21/10/09 @ 11:45:00
Haha, that one does look happy!
-
- 21/10/09 @ 12:09:07
I don't like donkeys at all - what are they? They aren't horses after all, beasts of burden says it all - would you be happy to have carried the saviour and got no bloody thanks for it? THen, they suffered the indignities of being beach donkeys - no wonder they are so miserable!
-
- 21/10/09 @ 13:14:11
I must say that carrying squealing children all day long would put anyone into a bit of a grump!

Morning!
Okay, I admit it. I was expecting something naughty when looking at that title. Oh well. I can't always be an angel.
*coughs*
Have a great day. x-
- 21/10/09 @ 13:14:50
Hehe - you're the first to admit that so far!
Tom.

As the funny story goes "why the long face?"

Oh, I dunno', George W. Bush sometimes looked quite pleased with himself, I thought.
Cute pic!-

Bush as a donkey works perfectly! Ditto Blair.

well, I'd be miserable if I was soaking wet...LOL...but they do tend to look rather doleful..and pretty too...
Have a great day, Tom...GBHs...XXX-
- 21/10/09 @ 13:16:09
I agree, they are pretty. As I just mentioned to BDA though, carrying children all day long would sour anyone's mood!
-

- 21/10/09 @ 15:39:18
well I suppose if that's all donkeys did, it would be enough to depress any of them, but think most of them don't...

I have kept them in the past, and once you know them well, they are actually quite equable beasts, and the most endearing of all the equines I think. We had 3 old ladies called Doris, Millie and Lucy, each one a character.

You should have seen their blissful expressions when the insides of their ears were rubbed!
You can't tell that from this winter picture when they were rather shaggy and waiting for new straw for breakfast.-
- 21/10/09 @ 15:08:35
A lovely trio you had there! I suspect the one I photographed (which was one of 3) were waiting to be fed. They seem to have the same character as sheep, but a little less timid.

Unlike sheep, they do not have a death wish - and I think are probably much more intelligent - certainly crafty! They respond very well to TLC, and love to be groomed and petted.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 13:44:31
I always feel sorry for the poor donkeys on the beach carrying goodness knows how many kids throughout the day
I think they are sweet animals
-
- 21/10/09 @ 15:09:27
Me too, their hair must get really waterlogged when it rains. Our sheep used to hate the rain.
-

There are lovely donkeys where I come from in the New Forest. They run free. They are so pretty and they seem cheerful and contented to me. But I have an early memry of being put on a donkey and falling off. I've never been a good rider!
-
- 21/10/09 @ 19:54:31
I'm fine with donkeys - it's horses that scare me!
-
- 21/10/09 @ 20:02:41
Donkey is wet from water surely.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 20:07:28
Well it was raining...
-
- 21/10/09 @ 20:05:46
Yes, maybe you are right. I have not very experience with donkeys, but maybe some donkeys are having a bad life.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 20:08:10
I think most of them get well fed and loved, but if they are just being used as beasts of burden it can't be too good for them.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 20:19:22
yes you are right. They are only for working for us people.
-
- 21/10/09 @ 22:08:26
Love the piccy. I have always prefered donkeys to horses. Dont know why though.
I must be really sweet and innocent as I didnt pick up on anything in the subject hahaha ;p-
- 21/10/09 @ 22:43:53
Same here, I love donkeys but am scared of horses.

Donkeys play a key role in my neck of the woods. Every farmer uses them to protect his precious beef from being preyed on by coyotes and wolves. Frankly, I love seeing them in my fields and find they are friendly and curious. My neighbor farmer rents out my ranch land for his cattle. Yes, we get the awesome benefits without all his arduous labor. Many blessings!
-
- 22/10/09 @ 14:12:39
That's very interesting, I didn't know donkeys had such a role. Thankyou.
