I'll accept this gratefully as it means we don't need the heating on!

And my logs will last a bit longer

That is crazy! It is too warm for October. In Vienna there is between 14 and 18 C. I think it is also very strange for the nature this weather. Lovely picture!
-
- 28/10/09 @ 10:01:56
I agree, it's not supposed to be this warm in almost November! It's raining today, but still warm...
-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:33:53
I walked from the university and it was very warm too, 18 C. How will end this climate change???
-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:44:35
Same here - I just was pottering about outside with just a t-shirt on!
-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:58:17
That is crazy! I have a jacket, but some people are sitting in the restaurant's garden.
-
- 28/10/09 @ 10:39:31
It sure isn't warem here
OUr heating is on and staying that way for the foreseeable future! Must be nice to be able to not have to wrap up in a zillion layers - hope your good weather continues x -
- 28/10/09 @ 13:44:56
Stay all cosy then!
-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:56:27
I fully intend to remain curled on the sofa for the rest of today

-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:57:41
Very wise!

Morning!
I haven't seen a butterfly for weeks! That one is bootiful! Have a great Wednesday. xx-

They disappeared for a while, but the recent war, snap has brought them out again. I wonder if a few creatures may be confused and think Spring has come early?

It is spookily warm and muggy, yes. last night, I had the dubious pleasure of accidentally stepping on some snails when I ventured into the night-time garden for some parsley. I expect to avoid them in the summer, but wasn't looking in late Autumn!
BTW - they are hoverflies in your photo, but I am sure the bees are also tempted out.-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:46:11
Yuck - we still have snails about too.
-
- 28/10/09 @ 11:14:22
i am betting it will be a mild winter for you. but i believe in global warming.
-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:46:38
A mild winter would be nice - it does get pretty rugged here when it's a bad one.

Anybody's guess....I'm going for the 'milder' option! Freak weather.....excepted!

-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:47:12
Mild with a few freaks would do nicely!

- Bushka
- 28/10/09 @ 16:00:23
I think that is very likely....given the weather patterns...these days...

yin-yang ~ we have had the coldest October on record! Having said that the meteorologists are saying it will be an la nina winter when they study the heat of the Pacific ocean currents!
Please can I use your bee picture with a poster I want to post on my blog in the near future? I've been going through some stuff I used to use with kids to inspire them and came across one with bees but don't have a great bee picture. You have a perfect one. Of course I'll give you total credit for the great pic ... and hopefully people will flock to your gorgeous photography.-
- 28/10/09 @ 13:50:03
Wow, what a huge difference from us!
Those aren't bees in my picture unfortunately, they are hover flies. These are bees though, from an older post of mine:
http://seasideman.blog.co.uk/2009/06/22/bees-make-excellent-pea-cosy-s-6363240/
Feel free to use any of them you like, as long as you credit me for them. I'm very happy to help with anything that might inspire kids.
Tom.

- 28/10/09 @ 13:51:13
Is that a Red Admiral in my picture? I think it might be.
I really can't believe how mild it's been. I'm not even wearing my woolly jumper!-
- 28/10/09 @ 16:55:11

-
- 28/10/09 @ 16:41:17
Beatiful pictures. Yeah, a warmer winter would be nice. I kind of doubt it'll stay though

Still lovely for walking Molly ... also I saw birds visiting our nesting bos - first time since it was installed about 5 years ago. Do they start nesting at this time of year??
-
- 28/10/09 @ 21:36:45
I suppose some birds would be nesting at this time of year, but I wouldn't know which ones.

Nearly as warm with you as it is here on Kef.
It was 24 this afternoon - which my body is now feeling as slightly nippy.
I went for a swim yesterday but didn't stay in the water long - it was cold
-
- 28/10/09 @ 21:35:53
Ha - 24 is getting towards too hot for me!

It's 10:28 in the evening and I've got the back door open, the cats are in and out and I have shorts on. If we could just press the pause button right now and then lock it........

This ain't right!
-

That's the effect of climate change, the world is experiencing now...
-
- 29/10/09 @ 09:25:34
I certainly don't remember the end of October being like this when I was a kid.

It's turned warm again here after plummeting right down. As you say I'm not complaining.
