We thought it was so funny seeing Dan slide around on the ice, as you can hear from Helen laughing in the above clip, and from me being unable to hold the camera steady. The ice was several inches thick.
Cheers, Tom.

oh bless him.
what a lovely laugh your wife has too.
Can i ask you a serious question? i have been reading about all these people dying in lakes as they have fallen through the ice or jumped in to rescue their dogs. I have never had a dog so i don't understand people who risk their life for a dog. But at the same time i do sort of understand as they are part of the family and i would do it for my children.
Would you jump in a frozen lake for your Dog?
sorry, i hope that doesn't come across as cruel or sinister, it is just something i truly don't understand x x x x
Morning! A dog really does become a member of the family and we become very attached to them. They have absolute love and devotion to their human keepers. I wouldn't risk my own life for Dan, but I'd try damned hard to rescue him if he did fall through the ice.
thanks. see to me that seems sensible, it's just that usually when i hear people have died jumping in to rescue their dogs, the dogs always manage to survive!!!!
Awww how determined is he, despite the obvious setback of not being able to stop he still goes for that stick lol
I was killing myself when I first saw him sliding round like that :-)
It was amazing how quickly he learned to cope with it though. I took another video a few minutes later and he was hardly sliding at all. Clever doggie!
Great fun! - Not so much a movie, as a slide-show - HeeHee! ![]()
Haha - good one :-)
You all seemed to be having such fun ![]()
It was great :-)
I might go and do it again now...
Take care and make Helen put a hat and gloves on!!!!
She never leaves home without them!
coo, bet his paws were cold...but good fun for him to by the looks of things...LOL...GBHs...XXX
He didn't seem to mind the cold at all, which rather surprised me!
Bless! He did look like he was having fun!
We all did :-)
That's just precious! Dan's escapades always make me smile. I only wish I could say my girl was that graceful, but she always falls on her butt on ice. It's still too new to her, and she's not quite got that fourth leg back up to par. Doesn't seem to phase her though, she still thinks all the rabbits don't stand a chance.
Soon enough, the rabbits really won't stand a chance!
bah! if they turned around and chased her she'd yelp like a big baby and run!
Haha :-)
So lovely to see Dan and Helen having fun together in these extreme conditions
xx
I couldn't stop laughing myself :-)
Aw that was lovely to see thanks for sharing Tom I was only thinking today would I rescue my doggie if he fell in the pond we have a pond near us so I keep him on a lead as a few people have lost their lives for there pets I adore my dog but would I attempt to save him I expect I would make an attempt even though it would be foolish ![]()
I think it's one of those things where it might be difficult to predict what you'd do until it happens. I don't think I'd just leap in, but I'm sure I'd try hard to do something.
Brilliant! That is hilarious! Dan is a star!
He's a bit of a show-off too!
Awesomely captured magical moments thank you for raising a smile and even a chuckle.
I'm glad you liked it - we will definitely be repeating that!
oh that is great! Thank you for this video!
Hi Helga, I hope you are coping with the weather OK.
Hi Tom, I hate winter time (when it is cold) but I think in two months is the winter over and I am looking forward to + spring.
Yes, Spring is just round the corner.
Brilliant!!! Thought he did pretty well to stop himself sliding to the other end!!
He never fell over once - that 4-wheel drive works wonders!
Great watching them on ice...
I agree, it's so much fun :-)
I love Dan, he's so cute x
I'll tell him now :-)
Such joie de vivre ... a lovely memory to keep!
Yes, that's definitely a keeper!
Bless him - he`s so funny - he was totally loving it wasn`t he? lol
We should all make the most of the snow and ice cos we won`t get this again for another thirty odd years.... if the met office can be believed ![]()
xxx
You're right, that's the most fun he could ever have :-)
If that's what the Met say, then next winter will probably be the worst ever...
Helen has the sweetest laughter.
You have a beautiful family, Tom.
I know you know that too!
Thanks Charlotte :-)
I hope you are well.
Yeah! I feel good with my muscles.
Seems this intense cold is good for
the myasthenia.
I've been running around for the
first time in years!
Nice while it lasts!!
Thanks for asking, Tom.
Oh, that's a good thing.
What a skater he is. And what fun he was having. Now that is good times to be had
We all had a lovely day - dog and humans :-)
