Big Boss man

It's been too long since I posted myself with guitar, so here is my cover of Big Boss Man:

This song was first recorded in 1960 by Jimmy reed, was played by Elvis at his famous 1967 comeback concert, and was a staple of Grateful Dead concerts. My version here is a bit rough around the edges, but I'm happy with it.

  Thanks, and yes it is a new guitar. My cousin Shaun is working in the Middle East so he gave me his guitar. Very nice of him.

  It's really easy to play as it has a really low action, more like an electric guitar than an acoustic. It's too quiet for loud environments but sounds really nice when somewhere quiet (like this) or when plugged in.

Thanks for that Tom - like how you slipped into the American accent whilst singing the song!

Always find there is something appealing about a man playing guitar - last heard one when a friend was strumming on his boat last September.

    I disagree- I think your voice is raw and has texture- something we lack these days is honesty in vocals due to auto tuning and compression .... Your voice is honest and fantastic! X

      I'm playing with a friend at a local pub on Saturday night. We're only doing 3 songs, but I'm really looking forward to it. We'll be doing 2 bluegrass songs, and one by The Levellers. We need to write some of our own material...
